Description: This well and spring information was orinigally obtained from the Well Inventory Retrieval System from the North Dakota State Water Commission Website . The files included Site Inventory (21,688 entries), Water Chemistry (36,103), Water Levels, and Lithology. These were downloaded on July 13, 2000. It was compiled by the Oregon Institute of Technology, Geo-Heat Center and made available for distribution through the AASG National Geothermal Data Systems project. Going through the databases it was assumed that the database use SI units for temperature and depth, but the casing diameter was in inches. If there was no temperature reported, that entry was deleted. If the Aquifer or Type mentioned “Surface Water” it was removed. There are 128 entries in the Well Information Database with temperatures of 20oC or above including 1 well with a temperature above 50oC. There are 139 entries in the Chemistry Information Database. A collocated study was completed by the Geo-Heat Center using the database compiled from the above mentioned references. A collocated community is defined as being within 8 km of a geothermal resource with a temperature of at least 50°C.
